Gold Mind

Gold Mind is the creation of Katie Friedman and Lynne Tapper who are trained ICF accredited coaches living in neurodiverse families, experiencing the joys and the challenges that this brings.

At Gold Mind we help people to dig for their untapped potential through online 1-2-1 and group coaching programs. We value and celebrate neurodiversity, appreciating that not all minds think alike. We understand that people experience and perceive the world differently and we adapt our coaching approach to suit the different people we work with.

As parents of autistic children, we know how important it is to find a way of helping our children to grow up feeling good about who they are, appreciative of their strengths whilst developing the tools and strategies for navigating life’s challenges. We both know that parenting an autistic child can be testing, taking us to our limits more than we would like.

Online Coaching for Parents of Autistic Children Program

Here are some things which make coaching work brilliantly in parenting, however it takes real effort and practice to develop coaching skills.

  1. Coaching is about listening not telling (not easy when we’ve been brought up expecting that children need to be told)
  2. Coaching is about developing unconditional positive regard (not always easy and very connected to how we regard ourselves)
  3. Coaching is about reaching your untapped potential (which is tricky to even focus on when you are juggling so much)

On this program we help you develop these coaching skills

If you can relate to most of the following then our program is for you.

You have the same repeated battles and meltdowns

You often find it difficult to juggle the needs of your autistic and non-autistic children.

You would like to deepen your connection with your child(ren).

Your child is a stickler for making sure everyone follows their rules.

You often feel like you are having to take on the roles of negotiator and diplomat.

You want to help but sometimes seem to make things worse when your child experiences a meltdown/shutdown.

Your child’s behaviour sometimes makes you doubt your ability as a parent.

Your childs sensory issues can make self-care and other everyday activities a challenge.

You sometimes find yourself on the receiving end of disapproving stares and unsolicited advice when it comes to your parenting.

You feel like you are winging it at times.

On the group coaching course, you will gain:

  • Lasting Positive change as you learn more about yourself as a parent and develop self-compassion to help you to relate better to yourself and connect better with your child
  • Coaching skills for parenting and life
  • Connection with other parents who you can relate to
  • Resources, tools, and strategies to take away

What people who have been on the course have said.

“The best thing I’ve done for parenting! Genuinely strengthened my understanding and abilities as a parent (and person, and manager.) ”
