Communication Coaching complies with the provisions of section 2(1)(c) of the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003. The Acts set out the principle that personal data shall not be kept for longer than is necessary for the purpose or purposes for which it was obtained.
There are 3 main types of data which Communication Coaching retains:
- Clinical Data needed to provide a service.
- Financial Data from clients for billing.
- Contact Data from referrals.
Communication Coaching keeps both physical and electronic records of clinical data in order to provide a service.
- The preferred format is electronic for clinical data.
- Clinical data is deleted/ confidentially destroyed within 6 months of the last coaching session.
Communication Coaching keeps electronic records of financial data from those who use the service.
- Financial Data is kept for 6 years to adhere to revenue guidelines.
Contact Data is kept for 6 years to allow processing of Financial Data if required.
Contact data (name and email address only) for coaching clients who have agreed for me to log their coaching hours for accreditation purposes with the International Coaching Federation will be kept until I have either applied for MCC accreditation with the ICF or until I cease working as a coach, at which point it will be deleted
If you require your clinical data deleted or removed, you must send an email to Communication Coaching at lynne@communicationcoaching.org citing your wish.
Financial data cannot be removed before 6 years; however, it can be shared with you to allow for any corrections.
Contact data cannot be removed before 6 years, however, it can be shared with you to allow for any update or correction of material facts such as spelling of names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.
If you require data to be shared with any third party, you must request it via email to Lynne Tapper, lynne@communicationcoaching.org, or via written request. Only the person listed as the key contact can request this.
