Terms and Conditions
How I work:
As a coach I provide you with a safe place to think well about what you want to achieve and how you want to be. I work by asking questions, helping you to explore ideas, and think through options. I do not tend to give advice or provide answers, rather I will help you to find your own solutions. Through coaching you will identify actions to take or strategies to try out between sessions, the effectiveness of these are then reviewed at following sessions.
As a coach I encourage you to recognise your own value system and to live according to this. In order to enhance the coaching relationship, I encourage you to communicate honestly, be open to feedback and to give the time and energy required to participate fully in the coaching process.
My clients often wish to work on identifying and developing areas of strength and finding ways to mitigate challenges that vary from client to client. Common themes that I coach people on include communication, organisation and planning, time management, memory and concentration, emotional regulation, and burnout prevention/recovery, parenting, self-advocacy and identifying what would constitute a reasonable adjustment in the workplace.
Clients are solely responsible for creating and implementing any decisions, choices and actions made as a result of coaching. I am not and will not be liable or responsible for any action or inaction by the client taken following work with me.
How often are coaching sessions? There is no set rule however I recommend at least one block of 6 x one-hour sessions spaced fortnightly when possible. Less frequent sessions can mean a loss of momentum when trying to form a new habit. We will contract for how many sessions you want when we start working together.
Where do I work? I work remotely, usually using zoom. I can offer face to face sessions in Headingley, Leeds.
Confidentiality & Privacy: The identity of clients and their material will be kept secure and confidential. No such material or information can or will be released to another party unless with the written consent of the client. I attend regular clinical supervision sessions, where client material may be discussed anonymously. The purpose of supervision is to enhance my professional development as I strive for excellence in my practice.
Exceptions to confidentiality are when I judge that the client, or someone they identify, is at significant risk of harming themselves, others or in danger of being harmed by a third party. In such instances, additional professional help may be sought, with the intention of supporting the client or a person in need of safeguarding.
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018): By signing this document clients are providing consent for me to take notes, which are held in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (2018). These are used to support your progress and for planning future sessions. I securely store client’s contact details and confidential materials for the duration of our working relationship.
Contact between sessions: Contact between sessions is generally for administrative purposes only, to book, cancel or rearrange appointments.
Health & Safety: Clients are encouraged to keep themselves as safe as possible during sessions. I hold professional indemnity insurance and also an Enhanced DBS certificate.
Cancellation Policy: I operate a cancellation policy of a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Appointments cancelled for whatever reason, without this notice will be charged in full. If a client is late to the appointment I will see the client but the appointment will end at the scheduled time and the client will be charged in full. Every effort will be made to adhere to the planned session date and time. I reserve the right to make reasonable changes to these, due to illness or unforeseen circumstances. There is a shared expectation that the client and I will attend on time.
For in-person sessions, any canceled sessions will incur a fee of £10.50, even when 48 hours’ notice has been given. This is to cover room hire fees.
Fees and Payment
Task | fee |
Initial telephone consultation – 30 mins | Free |
Virtual and in-person coaching | Please contact me for rates as they vary depending on whether the coaching is privately funded, funded through Access to Work or funded by an employer. |
For online coaching, I operate a self-booking system using Calendly and you will be asked to pay per session at the time of booking. If you want to book a regular session slot and pay for a block of 6 sessions in one payment let me know and I can send an invoice for all the sessions. For invoiced sessions, payment needs to be made within 30 days of the invoice date or before the next session whichever comes first. Further sessions will only proceed once payment has been received.
Termination of Work: It is good practice if endings are carefully planned for, in a manner to ensure every effort has been made to satisfactorily meet the aims and objectives agreed at the start of the coaching relationship. If a client does not attend more than once in succession, with no message received, then it is assumed that the client has ended the working relationship and all mutual responsibilities end. If a client stops attending, and they have prepaid for further sessions I will contact them via email to offer a refund for the sessions not taken. If no response has been received by the client within 6 months no refund will be made.
Conditions: From time to time I may update these terms to clarify my practice or to reflect new or different practices. I reserve the right to make changes to these terms and conditions at any time. If any material changes are made, I will notify clients using the email address specified in the details provided, if currently using my services at the time of change.
I am a member of The International Coaching Federation and adhere to their code of ethics. I am counting my coaching hours to support my application for the next level of credentialing with the ICF. By signing this form you agree to me counting the hours I work with you as part of my credentialing process. This means there is a very small chance that the ICF may contact you to ask you to confirm that you have been coached by me.
On occasion, I may ask to record our coaching sessions, in pursuit of ongoing professional development through mentor coaching. I will never record sessions without your permission.
